Lena Evans,
President

LENA EVANS is the founder of Legal Video Specialists.  She holds a Certified Court Videographer distinction granted by the American Guild of Court Videographers, and is also a Master Certified Legal Videographer with the Certified Legal Videographer's Association.

Lena is an active member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Clark County Bar Association. 

Before launching Legal Video Specialists, Lena was the President and CEO of Global Entertainment Strategies, a diversified entertainment, media and high-technology consulting firm.  She was a founding partner of several Internet entertainment companies as well as a digital visual effects and post production company.

Lena had been a recognized senior executive at a handful of entertainment and media companies, and was the youngest member ever appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of six entertainment industry organizations.  

For ten years she was associated with various corporate, banking, and litigation law firms preparing civil cases for trial. 

 


 

David Kastner,
Certified Legal
Video Specialist

David is a Certified Legal Video Specialist, and is a member in good standing with the National Court Reporter's Association and the National Notary Association. 

David's expertise encompasses depositions, site inspections, day-in-the-life documentaries, mock trials, surveillance, and independent medical examinations.  He also leads the company's post production department and remedies technical issues.

David has over 20 years of experience in video, audio and related technical fields--beginning as a satellite television technician, and then moving into the design and manufacture of satellite motor drive systems and mounts. 

Early in his videography career, David shot fashion shows, sports, and special events.  This led him into the broadcast and entertainment industry in various technical capacities on commercials, television shows, and feature films.

Before becoming a videographer, David was co-founder and Vice President of an international wholesale electronics distribution warehouse.  

 


 

Donna Smoot,
Legal Videographer

Donna has nine years experience in legal video production including depositions, site inspections, medical examinations, day in the life, and
linear/non-linear editing.  She is also a Notary Public.

From a career of secretarial positions at CPA  and law firms, Donna trained at Indiana University in TV and Video production.  She has extensive experience in television, both behind the scenes and as a co-host of a daily cable community affairs talk show.

Donna also had stints as a producer, director, camera operator, TelePrompTer operator and editor in the corporate, medical and educational video production arena.

 


 

Todd Leiter,
Legal Videographer

Todd has been a videographer for seven years.  He has designed and assembled a compact video equipment cart and rack, and has trained Videographers in the field.

Todd's experience also includes special event videography, editing, and production of highlight videos, seminars and meetings.  

For eight years, Todd has provided technical support for court reporters and agencies as well as LiveNote and eTranscript technical support for attorneys.  He is available to provide litigation technical support to clients upon request--including reporter's software and attorney/reporter hookup.

Todd is the publisher of ListenUp News Publications, which specializes in distributing practice books to court reporting students.  He is the author of several books for the Mastering Machine Shorthand Series. 

 


 

Richard Smith,
Legal Videographer

Richard has been a legal videographer for more than 10 years.  He has experience with the full gamut of legal video services including depositions, site inspections, day-in-the-life documentaries and settlement brochures.

Richard has been a filmmaker, and has produced a number of films and documentaries.


 



 

 

Gene Mendes,
Certified Legal
Video Specialist

Gene is a Certified Legal Video Specialist, and member in good standing with the National Court Reporters Association. 

Gene's experience encompasses a variety of Depositions ranging from Medical Testimonials, Day-in-a-Life, Preservation of Evidence, and Construction Site Documentaries.  He has been in the video arena for 10 years, with an extensive background which is technically oriented.

With eleven years as an Electrical/Mechanical Draftsman to back him up, Gene helped to build the Space Program in the late 1960's and 1970's.

After attending the University of Alaska, Fairbanks Campus where Gene studied Petroleum Technology and  Mechanical Engineering, he spent sixteen years building and operating Pump and Control Systems which are used today to regulate the flow of oil from Prudhoe Bay to the Valdez Terminal on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

Gene relaxes with the Martial Arts, and holds a Second Dan, or Degree, Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

 



Donald Van,
Certified Legal
Videographer

Donald is a Certified Legal Videographer, and is a member in good standing with the Certified Legal Videographer's Association.

With many years in the profession, Donald's experience includes site inspections, pre-construction surveys, construction draws, forensic examinations, and surveillance.  He has a special expertise in photography, Special Investigative Units, and construction defect matters.

Prior to entering the legal video field, Donald was an international sales agent in the areas of consumer products, sports and gaming.  He was also a professional photographer, graphic artist, and motivational speaker.

 


 

Michael Gaines,
Legal
Videographer

Michael has eight year's experience in deposition videography, and was a primary videographer on the Katzenberg vs. Disney case.  He is also experienced in documentary videography, event videography, linear and non-linear editing, and has been a Notary Public for seven years.  In total, he possesses over 30 years experience in film, video and photographic media. 

While Michael owned a job analysis firm catering to the insurance industry, he spent nine years working with worker's compensation attorneys. 

Prior to entering the legal industry, Michael spent several years in retail management, where he learned the importance of integrity, and always striving to provide the best possible service to the client. 

Michael is an avid photographer, and continues to hone his skills in this area--a hobby he has enjoyed for over 30 years. 

 



Dudley Fetzer,
Legal
Videographer

Dudley has been a Legal Videographer since 1995, and is also a Notary Public.  His professional experience encompasses all aspects of legal videotaping, including jury trials, site inspections, and business conferences.

Prior to entering the legal video field, Dudley worked as a Script Supervisor on independent films.  

 



 

 

Chuck Goswitz,
Legal
Videographer

In addition to 8 years as a Legal Videographer, Chuck has over 20 years experience as an Event Videographer.

Chuck’s breadth of experience also includes Directing, Editing, and Post Production.  He was the winner of the American Film Institute Award in 1984.

Before becoming a Videographer, Chuck worked at Hughes Aircraft for 16 years in Procurement & Planning - Radar Division.

Chuck is an avid golfer, who appreciates the competitiveness and comrade of the sport.  He also enjoys photography as a hobby. 

He received his B.S. in Management from Pepperdine University .

 



Kenny Laursen,
Certified Court Videographer

Kenny has been in the video industry for 10 years and is a Certified Court Videographer and member in good standing with the American Guild of Court Videographers.

While spending 35 years touring the world as an entertainer, singer, musician, and comic, he also worked as a cruise director, and an entertainment director for a cruise line and chain of  restaurants.

After Kenny retired from the stage, he was recruited by American Creative Entertainment, a theatrical agency, where he advanced to Vice President and established a video department producing music video. 

Kenny has taught video production at the community college and university levels, and he is currently Associate Producer of a television program. 

 



Jay Wertzberger,
Legal Videographer

Jay is a legal videographer and Notary Public.  

He is also a video editor, short filmmaker and public access producer.  With a background in Hollywood production and filmmaking, Jay brings hands on experience to every shoot - legal, corporate, or otherwise.

In addition, Jay is a streaming media specialist and a web entrepreneur.  With a mind for digital compression and new video technologies, Jay brings success to clients with a demand for high-tech video production and delivery. 

 



Kathryn Alexander
Administrative
Assistant

Kathryn Alexander coordinates all office administrative functions, including accounts supervision and the executive offices.  Another general focus for Kathryn is Client Services.  Additionally, she is charged with overseeing the office of the President.

Kathryn's background is as an Expert Executive Assistant.  In the past, she has worked in the areas of personal physical training, where she obtained distinction as a Certified Therapist.

 



 


Ellie Sossanabadi
Director of Office
Services

Ellie's role is to support day-to-day operations and office functions, as well as trouble-shooting for both the executive and production departments. She also handles general information, client support services, and post production fulfillment.
